looking back...

...into the bright lights of the big city that is Punta Arenas. Today's weather was a study of change. This morning was impeccably calm and warm. I stood on the ice tower's outer railings (90 feet up) and enjoyed the sun's rays with only a t-shirt and jeans. Excited at the prospect of a lunchtime outing, i prepared for an early lunch (90 minutes later) camera in hand... only to be greeted with grey skies and chilling wind. And then, later this afternoon... the weather broke and managed to produce the beautiful sunset below. enjoi, and as always, thanks for reading. peace. Posted by Picasa

Hiya Globetrotting Nephew this is your Auntie Kaaren~just checking out your website~looks cold out there but your bunk appears comfortable~I know exactly how it smells too-like diesel, confined spaces, a trace of mold and old sweat. Been on enough ships to know! Loved the picture of the sunset. What is the night-life like there? Does anyone tango? (I mean in nightclubs or bars, not the ship!) Eeeee Hard to believe there is a McDonalds there. How can they be so all over the place! When we reach into space, there will be a Mickey D's on the International Space Plaza and Aquanauterium. And a Quiznos-mmmmm Toasty!
Hey I'm goanna forward your website to Mike and Ursula too, so they can keep in touch~hope you continue well in this job~
Love~Us all in Brownsville
